Renato Cardi opened the gallery in the centre of Milan, Piazza Cavour 1, in 1972. During the mid 1970s the gallery worked with the most important Transavanguardian artists such as Nicola De Maria, Mimmo Paladino and Francesco Clemente. In 1989 it moved to Piazza Sant’Erasmo 3 and, ever since, it has been working with Italian and American artists who have been characterizing contemporary art since the beginning of the 80s, whose work conveys an independent and personal vision to follow different paths wiping out every rigid cultural and theoretical boundary without favouring any expressive means in particular: Donald Baechler, Bertozzi & Casoni, Alighiero Boetti, Greg Bogin, Maurizio Cannavacciuolo, Francesco Clemente, Greg Colson, Wim Delvoye, Nicola De Maria, Kim Dingle, Graham Gillmore, Toland Grinnell, Peter Halley, Guillermo Kuitca, Wolfgang Laib, Richard Long, Malcolm Morley, Vik Muniz, David Salle, Tom Sachs, Julian Schnabel, Richard Tuttle, Not Vital, and Andy Warhol.
