GALERIA LLUCIÀ HOMS, AN ART GALLERY THAT SUPPORTS THE LATEST CREATIONS IN CONTEMPORARY ART In 1999 Galeria Llucià Homs opened its space in Consell de Cent, the heart of Barcelona's art galleries. The gallery articulates its own artistic discourse based on a rigorous and eclectic line. We work with a dozen of young artists, both international and Spanish, exhibiting their work regularly, attending international art fairs with them, as well as promoting them in institutional shows. Being aware that new artistic trends cannot be limited to any particular technique and that contemporary art interacts with other disciplines that were considered foreign in the past; the projects we present in our gallery pass trough a diversity of languages ranging from painting or drawing to video and new media. Beyond its commercial activity, the gallery provides professional criteria and guides its artists' creations by clearly committing to the proposals presented, thus contributing to establish the basis of an art of the present time and supplying the essential tools to contextualize it and make it more comprehensible. LA GALERÍA LLUCIÀ HOMS, UNA GALERÍA QUE APUESTA POR EL ARTE MÁS CONTEMPORANEO QUE SE ESTÁ HACIENDO EN ESTOS MOMENTOS. La galería abrió su espacio en la calle Consell de Cent en 1999, centro neurálgico de las galerías de arte de Barcelona. Con una línea rigurosa y ecléctica, que articula con el devenir de los días un discurso personal, trabaja con una docena de jóvenes artistas de su generación, tanto españoles como extranjeros, exponiéndolos regularmente, asistiendo con ellos a ferias internacionales y promoviéndoles en muestras institucionales. Conscientes de que las nuevas tendencias artísticas no pueden ceñirse a ninguna técnica concreta y que el arte contemporáneo interactúa con otras disciplinas anteriormente vistas como ajenas a su posicionamiento, los proyectos que presenta discurren por lenguajes tan dispares que van de la pintura o el dibujo al vídeo y los new media . Más allá de la función puramente comercial, la galería aporta criterio profesional y vehicula la creación de sus artistas, tomando un claro compromiso con las propuestas presentadas, contribuyendo a asentar las bases de un arte del presente y dando las herramientas esenciales para contextualizarlo y hacerlo más comprensible.
