Mullerdechiara the new contemporary art gallery to join the Berlin scene is a joint venture between Sonke Magnus Muller (Berlin) and Laurie De Chiara of the De Chiara Gallery (New York City). The gallery program will encompass a wide range of work by internationally based artists with an emphasis on New York. The inaugural exhibition „wattage and Friendship“ –curated by David Hunt- brings together the work of 21 international artists. David Hunt is New York Editor of art/text. He has contributed to frieze, Flash Art, tema Celeste, nu, BOMB and Newsweek. Recent curatorial projects in New York include „Dusk“ at l-20, „Superimposition“ at Caren Golden Fine Art, and the upcoming „Respirator“ at Stux Gallery. This exhibition takes place in a temporary location: in the 1920´s IG-Metall-building, by Berlin architect Erich Mendelsohn, next to the recently opened Jewish Museum. The gallery mullerdechiara is now located in Berlin Mitte, Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz at Weydinger Strasse 10.
